Golden Brush Workshop
Artist: Mimi Little
"Florida Cracker Houses"
Guest artist, Mimi Little, returns to lead a workshop at SJCCA, at 4th Avenue and Lemon Street, from 1-4 p.m., on Tuesday, March 27. Mimi Little works in acrylics and collage and her paintings are abstract in nature with bright color and vigorous brush strokes. She exhibits locally at Wild Child Gallery in Matlacha.
Cracker houses, the classic old Florida house, have tons of character and stories to tell. There are many ways to paint buildings. They can be architecturally correct, whimsical or can suggest the essence of the location.
Composition, color and texture will be explored and styles demonstrated as those attending learn to keep their paintings as loose as possible.
If you’d like to research Cracker Houses on your own, please bring photos for reference. Artist will provide sample pictures as well
.
Paint , paper and canvas will be provided. If you have your own paint and brushes, please bring them!
For information and to register, call Linda Selleck at 239-283-5207
